Hello, and welcome to my blog!

I’m a Medical Doctor who completed my undergraduate training in South Africa. Towards the end of my final year of study, as is the case for medical students across the country every year, I was approached by a host of financial advisors and salesmen eager to offer me their services and sell me a wide variety of investment and insurance products, that they all assured me would be in my best interest to acquire.

Rather than get myself tied up in things I didn’t understand, I instead took it upon myself to learn about the field of Personal Finance and Investing – a field that medical students tend to know very little about – in order to make an informed decision about my financial future.

With this blog, I aim to share the things that I’ve learned and continue to learn about the field, with the hope that any medical students and doctors reading might find it useful on their own journey to reaching Financial Independence.

I have organized the concepts in such a way that the articles build upon each other, with the concepts covered gradually increasing in depth and complexity as you progress. I recommend that any new visitors begin by perusing the “Site Contents” menu up top and working their way through the articles in order. Alternatively, you may check the “Categories” menu to view each category of topics at your leisure.

The posts detail my own opinion and understanding of various financial concepts and are not intended to be taken as financial, tax, legal, investment, or other advice. Before any readers make any decisions or take any action regarding their finances, they should consult a qualified Financial Advisor.

Enjoy! I hope you learn something.
